Monroe Welcome Back!

Monroe 7th and 8th Grade Families,

We hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing summer! Our staff has been hard at work getting the school ready and preparing for what promises to be an exciting school year. We are thrilled to welcome back our 7th and 8th  graders to Monroe on Thursday, September 5th!

Here are a few important logistics to help ensure a smooth start:

Schedule Distribution:
Schedules for ALL students will be distributed in front of the school. Please remind your student to pick up their schedule upon arrival even if they already viewed their schedule online.

School Hours:
School doors open at 8:35 AM and school starts at 9:00 AM. Students are released at 3:40 PM on M, T, Th, F and 2:35 PM on early release Wednesdays.

Meals:
All students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch.

First Day Activities:
Students will follow a special schedule on Thursday, September 5th. Teachers will be going over details with students and there will be 40+ caring adults spread throughout campus to help answer questions and direct students! 

Bus Information: Use My Ride K-12 to identify your student's bus pickup and drop-off times and locations, get up-to-date route information and more! For instructions on how to register for an account and add your student, visit 4j.lane.edu/busroutes. 

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Information:

Morning Drop-Off:
To minimize congestion in the parking lot:

• Pull up along the yellow curb as far towards the front of the school as possible.
• Once your student is dropped off, please exit immediately towards the center lane so others can pull up as well.
• Please do not park on the yellow curb. If you need to park for a few minutes, please pull into a marked parking space.

After School Pick-Up:
To avoid traffic congestion, we suggest parents consider the following alternate waiting/pick-up spots:

• WEST Side Parking Lot: Parents can park in any designated parking spot and arrange for their student to meet them there. Cars are not allowed in the bus loading zone. Exiting the lot can be challenging, so we recommend turning right to access alternate routes back to Coburg Road.
• EAST Side Parking Lot: You can park and wait in any designated parking spot, but please do not park in the playground area or along the sides. Arrange for your student to meet you on the east side of the school. As with the west lot, turning left onto Coburg Road can be difficult, so consider alternate routes.
• NORTH Side of Bailey Lane: There is parking both curbside and within Luella and Riggs Streets. This may be a convenient spot to wait and can help reduce traffic congestion onto Coburg Road.
