Hello Monroe Families-

I hope it was a great week for you all around! We knew it was going to be an extremely busy and unusual week with all the different schedules and activities. Huge shout out to the students that participated in our annual Talent Show; everything from singing to dancing to comedy, it was a hit! It’s always amazing to see the unique talents on display! Also, what a great Student vs. Staff basketball game this past week. In short the students won by one 1 point at the last second but even more impressive was the level of engagement from students, staff, players, fans, and our amazing University of Oregon football players (see HERE for the video they produced).

We’re nearing the end of the year so play close attention to grades, assignments, and all the communication about end of year activities. Have a great three day weekend!

Lastly, check out our Mustang News Live document for key reminders! Looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday.

Exclusion from Activities: As we are nearing the end of the school year, we wanted to send out a quick communication around potential exclusion from activities. It is our practice that suspendable incidents and other similar behaviors can exclude students from participating in activities such as Activity Nights, dances, etc.

In an effort to increase our communication around this, Administration will be in contact with you and your student in advance if your student will be excluded from similar activities. In general, we give students a reset/restart at the mid-term, so that incidents from the beginning of the year do not impact activities at the end of the year. However, Administrators do use their discretion in determining which students will need to be excluded.

Please reach out to Mrs. Selner if you have any questions.

Connect and FLEX: iIn Connect we’ll be doing a lesson on Safe School Routes and starting our Student of the Month Assemblies (final ones for the year)! Additionally, we’ll have a guest speaker from the construction industry sharing with those that sign up during lunch  (Cookies and Convos). FLEX options for Thursday include: Conservation Club, Pictionary, and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).
