Track Families,

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We had an amazing first meet and the students did awesome! I enjoyed watching their excitement and drive to do their best at running, jumping and throwing. Thank you to all the volunteers and coaches that helped at the track meet! As the new head coach, I am taking notes on what I can adjust for the next season. I’m so grateful for our coaches and volunteers. Let's have a great week!

Information to note this week are:
ResultsKelly M.S. @ Monroe M.S.

Upcoming Meet: Thursday, April 25th Monroe M.S. vs ATA M.S. at Churchill High School Track. Student release at 1:15 PM and depart at 1:30 PM. Track events start at 3:30 PM and field events start at 4:00 PM. ATA M.S. is hosting this meet.

Volunteers Needed: We are in need of volunteers for our rivalry meet vs Cal Young Thursday, May 2nd at the Sheldon Track. At our rivalry meet we try to split duties 50/50. We mostly need finish line support and timers as high school students will run the field events. Click Sign up Sheet to volunteer.

Registration: If you know of any students who would like to join the team please fill out a paper registration form from the front office and turn in an updated physical to the front office. We would love your student to join!

Physicals: Need to be done as soon as possible and turned into the front office.

Excuse To Miss or Leave Practice Early: Families it is important you let me know by email alongoria_j@4j.lane.edu that your child is needing to leave early or missing a practice or meet. We want to ensure all students are accounted for and safe.

Track Clothes/Water Bottles: Students should come to practice wearing athletic clothes that are suitable for running, hurdling, jumping and throwing. Students that practice in jeans or shoes that have no flexibility or comfort have a higher risk of getting injured. Also, to limit the students going in and out of the school for a drink of water, it is important for students to bring water bottles to practice. This will give students the opportunity to stay hydrated without going in and out of the school.

Our track link will have our current practice and meet information. This will be an extra resource to check in with. When you have a track question please refer to the track site to see if it can answer your questions.

Go Mustangs!
