Monroe Fri-YAY Family Email

Posted Date: 4/19/24 (2:33 PM)

Hello Monroe Families-

I hope it was a good week as the sunshine was strong but so were the allergies! It was great to see many of you at the 1st track meet yesterday at Sheldon. It‘s always encouraging to see our students outside of the school walls engaging in positive activities. The great thing about track and field is that there is something for everyone- sprinting, short distance, long distance, jumping, and throwing. The more we can get our students involved in healthy extracurricular activities the better- thanks for your steadfast support of the various activities we offer in 4J and at Monroe specifically.

Looking ahead, check out our Mustang News Live document for key reminders! Looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday.

Eugene Youth Advisory Council Seeking ApplicantsThe City of Eugene is currently seeking applicants for the Eugene Youth Advisory Council. This is a fantastic leadership opportunity for youth who will be attending high school (or equivalent, as of Fall 2024) to impact our community and work alongside Eugene’s Mayor. Additional information on the group is included in the attached application materials and on our website (https://www.eugene-or.gov/4843/Eugene-Youth-Advisory-Council), but essentially the YAC advises the City on important policy issues while also working to educate the community on issues of concern to youth and creating engagement and service opportunities for youth. Enclosed is information and an application form related to the YAC that I am hoping you will share with students. Time is of the essence, as application forms are due Tuesday, May 28.

Best,
