Monroe Middle School

5/22 Monroe Fri-YAY

Posted Date: 05/22/26 (04:48 PM)

Hello Monroe families,

Thank you for another busy but great week at Monroe with so many moving parts, celebrations, and opportunities for students to shine.

One of the highlights this week was our 8th Grade Honor Roll Breakfast, where we celebrated students who earned a 3.5 GPA or above. It was incredible to gather with more than 200 students, family members, and friends to recognize their hard work and dedication. Events like this are such a great reminder that doing the right thing is what carries us forward—character, integrity, consistency, and hard work matter.

We also welcomed our future Mustangs during our 5th grade tours this week. It was exciting to usher in our incoming 6th graders, help build their confidence, and begin getting them acclimated to Monroe Middle School. Our students and staff did a great job representing what it means to be a Mustang.

Today also marked our final AVID field trip of the year as students visited Oregon State University. It was a beautiful day to be on campus and another meaningful opportunity for students to experience college and career pathways firsthand.

We also want to give a huge plug for our annual Art & Music in the Courtyard event happening next Friday starting at 5 pm! This is one of our favorite Monroe traditions and a celebration of the many talents within our school community.

The event will feature:

  • Live student music performances

  • Student art displays

  • Buena Vista Elementary Ballet Folklorico performances

  • Food trucks

  • Raffles and silent auction items

  • Fun activities for families and students

We hope you can join us for a fun evening celebrating our students and community.

Thank you again for your continued support of Monroe Middle School. Enjoy the long weekend, and we’ll see everyone back next TUESDAY!

In an effort to increase our communication around this, Administration will be in contact with you and your student a week before the event (the best we can) if they will be excluded due to behavioral concerns. In general, we give students a reset/restart at the mid-term. However, Administrators do use their discretion in determining which students will need to be excluded.
