Dear 8th Grade Families,

We’re heading into an exciting and memorable final week of school for our 8th graders! With so many special events coming up, we’ve gathered all the details in one place for you below.

Tuesday, June 10 – 8th Grade T-Shirt Distribution

All 8th graders will receive a FREE 8th grade t-shirt during their lunch.
We encourage students to wear their shirts on Thursday, June 12!

Wednesday, June 11 – Camp Harlow Trip

8th graders will spend the day at Camp Harlow. Pick up from Camp Harlow is at 3:45 PM OR if your student is riding back to Monroe pick up is at 4:15 PM.
Please make sure your student brings:

• A water bottle
• Sunscreen
• A towel
• A change of clothes if they plan to participate in water activities
• A small bag (like a drawstring or beach bag) is allowed

Transportation Reminder:
If you selected that your student will ride the bus back to Monroe, they will be required to do so. We’ll be taking attendance based on what was indicated on their permission form.Students will not be allowed to change transportation plans last minute to leave with friends or carpool.

Wednesday, June 11 – Memory Boards Due!

Memory boards are due to the front office by Wednesday, June 11.
If you haven’t picked one up yet, it’s not too late! We’ll be distributing boards to any student who still needs one.

Thursday, June 12 – Yearbook Distribution, 8th Grade Promotion & Dance

Students wear their FREE 8th grade shirt!

Yearbook Distribution

Yearbooks will be handed out during lunch on Thursday.

8th Grade Promotion & Family Walkthrough

Time: 6:00–7:15 PM (Drop in anytime!)
All family, friends, and relatives are welcome—no RSVP needed.
Walkthrough Details:

1. Enter through the front doors as a family—we’ll announce your student’s name!
2. Walk the courtyard path and be cheered on by staff.
3. Pick up the promotion certificate
4. Visit the Memory Boards in the gyms.
5. Photo Booth fun in the large gym.
6. Head to the blacktop for cookies, drinks, and music!
7. Closing speeches from students & Mr. Saeteurn at 7:30 PM.

8th Grade Dance – Students Only

Time: 7:45–9:15 PM
Held in the courtyard with:

• Dancing
• Games & activities
• Photo booth
• Pizza, snacks, and Italian sodas!

Students are expected to stay the entire time. If your student needs to leave early, a parent must check them out in person or give phone permission for them to leave with someone else.

Exclusion from Activities:
Students may be excluded from the dance due to suspendible incidents or serious behavior concerns. Admin will reach out the week of the event to inform families if this applies to their student. We aim to give students a fresh start at mid-year, but discretion is used when needed.
