Hello Monroe Families-

What a fun week as we went all in with Spirit Week! It was inspiring to see the level of commodore, friendship, and on a staff level, collegiality, as so many students and staff dressed up and tried to keep things light as we hit the end of 2024. It concluded with Mr. Barry and Ms. Pitts being duct taped to the wall as students engaged in our M&M MODEL Mustang competition. Hundreds of M&Ms were dropped off into boxes demonstrating a level of excitement and enthusiasm all week! Big shout out to Mr. Bellizzi and Mrs. Wellman for leading the way in making it happen! 

As we approach winter break, I want to thank you for your continued support as our school is so grateful for how you partner and support us. We have an amazing community, and I truly appreciate the role each of you plays in making our school a wonderful place for our students! 

For many students and families Winter Break is a time of rest and a much needed break. I want to take a moment to acknowledge that this time can also be particularly stressful for many. With fewer routines, unpredictable schedules, limited peer engagement, potentially limited access to basic needs, such as food and shelter, feelings of anxiety and stress tend to rise. During this time, I encourage you to stick to routines that promote well-being. Limiting screen time, spending time outdoors, and engaging in face-to-face interactions can greatly benefit both students and families. Take advantage of community and free events, and make time for exercise, reading, and self-care activities.
